I tried to make it through July without buying any fabric. I really did….. but I saw these fabrics and I just HAD to have them. You know how that goes, don’t you?
I am a member o Julie’s Pick’s Club through Fabric Mart, where I receive fabric swatches and a chance to buy fabrics each month from that exclusive selection which is often at a discounted price. The first time I saw this fabric, I just could not stand not having it. I love to collect fabrics with fashionable ladies, pinups and dressforms. They are usually in quilting cottons, but this one is in a fashion fabric!
This one is called “Degas Dancing Ladies” and it’s a viscose challis. I have no idea what to do with it yet… I have 4 yards of it and I believe that it is almost 60″ wide. I know it will go to a dress, but what dress? Does anyone have any pattern recommendations for this?
When I was ordering this fabric, I saw this jade green cotton voile and I HAD to have it! Voile is probably my favorite fabric for summer and I am in love with greens, so of course, this had to come and get my needy little hands.
And then, yesterday, I was shopping at Joann’s in Stockton with my mother-in-law for fabric to make a seat cushion for my sewing chair (it’s comfy but the chair fabric bothers my skin) and I found this lovely fabric amongst the quilting fabrics! Well…actually…. my MIL found it! I did not see it….
We were both surprised to see this at Joann’s. It was at a Joann superstore, so I doubt they have it at my little local Joann’s. There is another Simplicity fabric there, too, with patterns on it. So if you want to go scoop it up, run, don’t walk! My MIL had to get some for herself as well.
Happy fabric shopping!
